Desert God is a rollicking adventure story featuring Taita, chief advisor and roving trouble shooter for Pharaoh around the time the Hyksos people occupied northern Egypt. The story is filled with battles, romance, palace intrigue, and just a touch of mysticism. The only drawback is that the novel is filled with anachronisms, such as the use of triremes by the Minoans centuries before they actually showed up. But even if one has a problem with this mangling of history, it is still an enjoyable read.
