China is poised to beat NASA to the moon, but it might not matter

The 10th test of the SpaceX Starship has been launched and by all accounts was wildly successful in meeting its objectives. What do the results tell us about the likelihood that NASA and its commercial and international partners will beat China back to the Moon?

Gabriella's War #CommissionEarned

In 1944, with the world convulsed with war, the Contessa Gabriella Doria haunts the piazzas and canals of Venice. Few people know that she is not only an agent for Britain’s MI6 but that she is also a 450 year old vampire. But one SS officer, Kurt Hesselman, knows and has vowed to destroy her, using the occult powers he was born with. Their battle will rage from Gabriella’s beloved Venice to occupied France, and hence to Great Britain on the eve of the largest sea borne invasion in history. The outcome of the war and the fate of the world will hang in the balance.

Trump will appoint personnel chief Sergio Gor as ambassador to India

Gor, as you all may remember, was the Grima Wormtongue who helped to drive a rift between Trump and Elon Musk. He also persuaded the president to withdraw Jared Isaaaxman's nomination to be NASA administrator, thus throwing the space agency into chaos. Gor will have to be confirmed by the Senate. I notice that Ted Cruz, whose Senate Commerce Committee confirmed Isaacman, is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee. If Cruz is willing, he could make the hearings entertaining indeed.

Critics shouldn’t block NASA’s nuclear path to a moon base

Sean Duffy, NASA’s interim administrator, proved that the U.S. is serious about establishing a lunar base when he announced the deployment of a 100-kilowatt nuclear reactor on the moon by 2030. The idea, although a sound one, is not without its critics.

This was made 7 years ago, but considering the current water apocalypse looming, it had a current urgency.

Sean Duffy is doing a great job at NASA, but it might not be enough

The naming of Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy as interim NASA administrator was as much of a surprise as was President Trump’s withdrawal of his nomination of Jared Isaacman to the same post.

So, how is Duffy doing, trying to bring the space agency out from its summer of discontent?
